Insight Global Manager - Port Operations in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Job Description
One of the largest cruise lines is looking for a Manager - Port Operations sitting in Fort Lauderdale, FL hybrid 3x a week. This person will be responsible for managing and establishing relationships with local authorities and service providers in ports globally, ensuring vessels are serviced effectively within the constraints of local rules, regulations, and customary practices, while observing company policies and guidelines. This role involves driving objectives to support KPIs and financial expectations, coordinating vendor services to meet company requirements, and ensuring performance standards are met. The manager will be maintaining effective communication between all parties, including local authorities such as Customs and Immigration, port authorities, and various service providers like port agencies, cruise terminal operators, stevedore and security companies, and transportation services. Additionally, the manager will be participating in budget preparation and review processes, develops professional relationships with local port communities, represents the company at local meetings and events, and ensures all port activities are performed within set guidelines and budgetary restraints. This dynamic position requires swift and intuitive action to adjust for changing external and internal factors, ensuring operational plans are executed effectively and opportunities for cost-saving enhancements are identified.
Pay Range: 100K-110K

Skills and Requirements
BS or BA in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, logistics, or equivalent experience
5+ years experience in a management or leadership role with progressively more responsibility
Prior experience in port-related management and/or marine operations, preferably passenger vessel operations
Progressive knowledge in port operations desired.
Equivalent operational experience in a transportation or logistics management function will be considered.
Demonstration of directly related work experience, which has provided an equivalent breadth, and depth of knowledge may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Strong Incline to drive change management; Reviewing business practices and results to define operational and procedural enhancements and efficiencies for the benefit of improved customer experience and company profitability.
Ability to resolve complex customer service issues and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints, while meeting deadlines and maintaining an attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization, authorities, business partners, and customers.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Desired skills in using pivot tables and Power BI.
Aptitude to work with custom business software applications.
Ability to analyze operational results and data and create reports or create presentations.
