ASRC Federal Holding Company Cross Domain Linux System Engineer (Hybrid) in Fort Meade, Maryland
ASRC Federal Network Technologies is seeking a System Engineer with Linux experience who is ready to take a "deep-dive" into cross domain solutions and related capabilities. This is your opportunity to flourish in a highly driven environment. You will gain valuable experience learning proprietary cross domain technology and frequently working on different projects. This position operates in a hybrid format, requiring 3 days in attendance at our Fort Meade, MD location. The role also involves travel, estimated at 2-3 trips per year, with each trip lasting between one to four weeks. Initial travel destinations include Montgomery, AL, and Columbus, OH, with potential future assignments in Europe. There may also be opportunities for travel to Hawaii and Yokota, Japan.
Responsibilities:
Designing and developing systems in a team-oriented environment
Developing and integrating information sharing applications and services utilizing leading-edge technologies, cross domain solutions, agile development processes and distributed/high performance computer applications
Work with other systems and software engineering team members to document requirements and architect solutions/capabilities based on stakeholder input
Work with project managers, external stakeholders and other team members to plan and coordinate all "cross domain" implementation activities to ensure successful data transfer for DoD mission applications
Deploy solutions to various DISA Core Data Centers around the world including planning, installation/configuration of hardware/software, testing, external integration, and transition to operations
Assist in the troubleshooting and debugging of operational issues impacting deployment capabilities
Follow engineering best practices and customer processes

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline or additional experience in lieu of a degree
Seven ( 7 ) years or more of work experience in a relevant, technical role
Security+ and/or CISSP Certification
Active Secret clearance
Experience installing, configuring, and managing Linux or Unix operating systems (prefer RHEL 5 or greater) and any scripting languages to automate recurring tasks
Experience using VMware, VSphere or other virtualization technologies is a plus
Exposure to software and system testing/QA to include writing system test plans, test cases, test reports and executing system tests
Experience maintaining information systems configuration management
Any exposure or desire to learn cross domain solutions (listed on the NCDSMO baseline list) is desired
Experience leading installations of hardware and software to remote locations
Experience delivering DoD information system solutions under NIST RMF is a plus
Understanding of TCP/IP and ability to troubleshoot basic networking issues
Must be willing to travel to domestic and international locations
Must be able to work on-site 3 days a week at the Ft. Meade, MD location

Excellent teamwork skills, result oriented, and self-motivated
