Summary About the Position: This position will serve as a Knowledge Management Specialist responsible for determining knowledge management needs for US Army South command. Responsible for developing knowledge management strategies that build and align, people, processes, and tools allowing organizations to share in the updating and content management of their knowledge systems. This position is a TERM position NTE 2 years. Responsibilities Implement and support knowledge management policies, strategies, practices and projects. Advise management on all knowledge management responsibilities. Prepare briefings on all knowledge management projects. Provide recommendations on developing guidance techniques for management and employees. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience utilizing knowledge management tools and systems to manage the command program; implementing processes into the knowledge management program; preparing project papers, staff reports, and organizing briefings to brief the management team; monitoring, designing, developing, and maintaining knowledge management tools and systems; developing guidance and policies on processing knowledge management practices. his definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Data Management Knowledge Management Manages and Organizes Information Oral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is an Engineers and Scientists (Resources and Construction) Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a temporary or Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Temporary or Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 3 years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
