Robert Half Database Administrator in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Database Administrator in FORT WASHINGTON, Pennsylvania. The chosen candidate will be a crucial part of our team, focusing on ensuring the availability, security, and integrity of our SQL Server database systems. You will have the opportunity to work closely with both the development and operations teams, optimizing systems, and resolving performance issues.
Responsibilities:
• Guarantee the consistent configuration of all database servers and adherence to best practices.
• Manage database environments to ensure data availability and recovery.
• Lead projects for database growth, updates, upgrades, security enhancements, performance enhancements, and scalability enhancements.
• Collaborate with the analytics team to define and implement data warehousing strategies.
• Analyze database performance, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
• Monitor production database systems and proactively mitigate performance and configuration issues.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to ensure data availability in the event of system failure or disaster.
• Support the IT/Operations team on production issues, deployments, server maintenance, Disaster Recovery (DR), and other production service requests.
• Implement database changes and upgrades while minimizing downtime and data disruption.
• Support development team activities including but not limited to: creating new databases, performing database backups, restores, and deployments, troubleshooting connectivity issues, assigning permissions, and informing system designs. Requirements • Proficiency in Linux Technologies is essential for this role.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Profound knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is required.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL is crucial.
• Candidates should possess strong skills in Optimization.
• Familiarity with AB Testing is a plus.
• Experience with Backup Technologies is needed.
• Cluster Analysis knowledge is highly beneficial.
• Configuration Management skills are a must.
