Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance management, PLC programming and troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. This role requires hands-on management, including working night shifts when necessary to ensure optimal team performance. You will be responsible for evaluating and developing staff, revamping programs, and managing third-party services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 18 Maintenance Technicians, 3 Supervisors, and 1 Crib Attendant.

• Work hands-on rather than as an office manager.

• Program and troubleshoot PLC systems.

• Evaluate and develop current staff to enhance performance.

• Implement continuous improvement processes to increase department efficiency.

• Revamp existing programs and create new processes to improve department operations.

• Schedule, communicate, and manage third-party services working at the plant.

• Manage communication with the railroad system used for shipping and receiving.

• Work Monday to Friday, 1st shift, with on-call responsibilities and occasional night shifts.

Essential Skills

• 10+ years of maintenance experience.

• 5+ years of maintenance management experience.

• Strong continuous improvement experience.

• Experience managing a team of at least 15 technicians.

• Experience managing third-party services.

• Experience in evaluating and developing technicians.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Food and beverage industry experience.

• Bachelor's degree.

• Experience with Maintenance Connection software.

Work Environment

This role operates within a manufacturing plant that uses an extrusion process to produce food storage containers. The work environment includes managing a team on the floor, interacting with third-party services, and overseeing the plant's railroad system. The position is primarily 1st shift but requires on-call availability and occasional night shifts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Fort Wayne, Indiana . 

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $125000.00
