Community Health Systems Nursing Student Intern - Trauma ICU in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Schedule: PRN- Varied Hours and Shifts - 5a-5p or 5p-5a
Student Intern (Nursing Students within final year of RN school)
MSIC has 34 beds (Neuro/Trauma)
Medical Surgical ICU that specializes in neuro and trauma critical care
We are a comprehensive Stroke Center and a Level 2 Trauma Center
Attention nursing school students! Begin your career in nursing at Lutheran Hospital, while you are in school as a Student Intern! Under the supervision of a unit Supervisor and the clinical leadership of a Registered Nurse, you will perform basic patient care procedures to support the unit healthcare team for a maximum of 12 hours per week.
No Experience is required. Lutheran Health Network will provide formalized training classes!
Students are typically in their final year of nursing school and within 1 year of graduation. Successful completion of approved clinical nursing courses i.e. Med/Surg I or equivalent and Pharmacology.
Transcripts of classes must be submitted to confirm graduation date and period of time in actual program
Student Interns are then required to successfully pass boards within 120 days (4 months) from graduation date

Licensure:
BCLS within 30 days of hire
Basic EKG – CLIN within 30 days of hire
Required Education: Provide HS Diploma or equivalency. Currently enrolled in a nursing degree program.
