Job Description:

SUMMARY

Working under the direction of the Director of Fleet Management, incumbent assists with the maintenance and repair of Civil City, City Utility, Police, and Fire vehicles/equipment. The incumbent is expected to exercise good judgment, independence, initiative, and professional expertise in conducting day-to-day operations. Monitor and ensure all work duties and activities are performed in accordance with the City safety rules and operating regulations, policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the ability to interact with the public, City incumbents, and outside agencies with patience, tact, respect, professionalism and assist in the maintenance of the Citys 2,200 plus fleet assets. Essential duties also include the following and others may be assigned.

Supervises Service Writers and acts as a backup when necessary.

Supervises Technicians, monitors their work, providing technical assistance when necessary.

Assists in troubleshooting problems with vehicles/equipment when necessary.
