You will be the Simulation Development Software Engineering Manager for the Simulation and Systems Labs (SSL) organization within Engineering & Technology (E&T). Our team is responsible for the development, integration and troubleshooting of simulation software products in hardware-in-the-loop and man-in-the-loop lab environments.
SSL products are used to advance Avionic systems development, strengthen pilot familiarization, assess human factors, evaluate aircraft control laws, improve mission study effectiveness, provide test capabilities required for contract verification, and provide integration testing and verification capabilities for aircraft systems and software.
What You Will Be Doing:
As the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for leading a team 25 - 35 software engineers that support F-35 and ADP software simulation. You will lead the team in applying software engineering techniques and driving digital transformation to influence the direction of products to design, develop, integrate, test, and support simulation software for the F-35 and other aircraft programs. You will drive the execution of the team in order to meet program milestones and oversee technical risks, design, development, operation, and maintenance of software and firmware components and computing systems software.

You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
• Project or Technical leadership experience
• Experience in SW Development Processes
Desired Skills:
• Experience in Earned Value Management
• Simulation Software knowledge and experience
• Software Modeling knowledge and experience
• CI/CD tooling and processes
• Agile development experience
• Full Life Cycle SW Development Process leadership and/or experience
• Simulation and Systems Integration Lab experience
• Understanding of Real-Time Systems, Computers, Busses, & I/O Protocols
• Understanding of Air System Simulation and Aircraft Hardware & Software
• Software Development leadership experience or Software Integration leadership experience
• Technical Experience/Background
• Ability to obtain SAP/SAR Clearances
• F-35 Domain Experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
