Army National Guard Units SECURITY SPECIALIST (PROTECTION) - TITLE 32 in Frankfort, Kentucky

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST (PROTECTION) - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD2500P01 and is part of the KY JFHQ, National Guard. NOTE: Current on-board applicants (AREA 1, Title 32 employees) will retain current tenure and be temporarily promoted or reassigned, all others will be hired with indefinite tenure. Responsibilities As a SECURITY SPECIALIST (PROTECTION) - TITLE 32, GS-0080-9, you will serve as the Antiterrorism/Force Protection (ATFP) Planning Support Specialist on all aspects of ATFP. Plan the development, implementation and operation of the ATFP program in support of policies, regulations and programs. Develop ATFP plan for Army National Guard facilities. Provide direction, guidance, advice and assistance to subordinate elements on the ATFP program. Provide crisis management planning and execution assistance. Assure the adequacy of policies, plans, directives, budgets, procedures and other appropriate media required to plan and implement ATFP projects. Develop scenarios for ATFP exercises to test and coordinate participation in exercises. Assist with a wide variety of plans, training and operational tasks such as staffing actions, tasking, preparing and presenting briefings, coordination of training requirements, planning/conducting special events, and reviewing Serious Incident/Command Critical Information Requirements Reports. Serve as State security monitor for Physical Security, Antiterrorism, Operations Security, ISOPREP, Visitor Control and other Security and Crime Prevention programs. Plan and coordinate security site studies, projects, assessments, and surveys. Maintain the State Mission Assurance Risk Management System database. Analyze higher headquarters protection plans and recommend command response or action. Develop exercise guidance, Master Scenario Events Lists items, implementations, and staff control instructions. Serve as a member and chairperson for boards and working groups. Interact with other agencies and local authorities to provide a forum for the crossflow of information and work together on community issues and threats. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Military Grades: SPC - 2LT CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard. You must be assigned to a compatible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T5 or equivalent investigation. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. This position is located on a tobacco free facility. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Must attend the ARNG Security Manager Course within 12 months of appointment. Must obtain the Security Professional Certification(s) within 24 months of appointment. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Must have experience in a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems. Ability to develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods. Experience in information, personnel, and physical security to effectively implement, integrate and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security programs. Knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, and eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 24 months experience conducting intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices in support of all sensitive compartmented information-associated security programs. Experience implementing policies and procedures required to manage/protect sensitive information programs. Knowledgeable on maintaining currency and protection of different security program interrelationships, requirements, regulations and guidance. Experience researching, interpreting, analyzing and applying a variety of regulations, policies and manuals applicable to sensitive compartmented information-associated security programs. Experience complying with Sensitive Compartmented Information facilities, construction and physical requirements, standards and regulations. Experience assessing Special Security Office self-inspections and presenting reports with consistent follow-up work to ensure complete and quality discrepancies resolutions improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency. Experience may include implementing the Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance program and maintaining current and completed clearances for assigned personnel.
