As part of CBRE's Global Workplace Solutions team, the Utility Bill Auditor will play a vital role in supporting a major e-commerce, cloud computing, and digital streaming company to achieve their aggressive energy and sustainability goals. This position is responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in utility billing processes, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and maintaining data integrity across the client's portfolio. The auditor or utility rate expert will work closely with utility providers, internal teams, and clients to optimize utility spend while supporting broader sustainability initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
Bill Analysis & Audit Management
· Review and validate utility bills across multiple accounts and service types
· Identify billing errors, anomalies, and potential cost-saving opportunities
· Implement standardized audit procedures to ensure consistent bill verification
· Maintain comprehensive documentation of audit findings and resolutions
Utility Relations & Issue Resolution
· Collaborate with utility providers to resolve billing discrepancies
· Manage the dispute resolution process for identified billing errors
· Build and maintain relationships with utility representatives
· Track and follow up on billing adjustments and credits
Data Management & Reporting
· Maintain accurate utility bill databases and tracking systems
· Develop and generate regular performance reports for stakeholders
· Create and maintain documentation of utility rate structures and tariffs
· Analyze consumption patterns and identify unusual trends
Process & Program Support
· Contribute to the development of utility cost reduction strategies
· Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
· Assist in utility procurement processes
· Stay current with industry regulations and rate changes
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, energy management, or related field OR equivalent experience
· 2+ years of experience in utility bill auditing or related field
· Strong proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis tools
· Demonstrated experience with utility billing systems and processes
· Understanding of utility rate structures and billing components

Equal Pay Disclosure
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Utility Bill Auditor position is $100,00.00 annually [or $48.08 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Utility Bill Auditor position is $120,000.00 annually [or $57.69 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
