SUMMARY

The primary mission of this position is to manage medium to large-scale inventory solution implementation projects. Design, develop and implement solutions according to specific customer business requirements. Manage all business processes, activities and deliverables across Inventory Solutions, Sales and Operational Teams to ensure successful, on time and profitable implementations. Additionally, this role will provide ongoing support and solution maintenance to ensure achievement of long-term success and profitability goals.

ESSENTIALS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Creates and implements project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives for multiple medium to large sized projects of moderate to high complexity.
  • Lead implementation kick-off meetings to assign timeline and tasks to cross-functional implementation teams.
  • Arrange and facilitate frequent process update meetings during implementations to maintain continual communication with customer and cross-functional teams and resources.
  • Support all steps of customer implementation; troubleshoot and contact the proper individuals if an issue arises.
  • Design and implement inventory solutions based on customer specific requirements and goals. Partner with external Inventory Solution vendors and internal Inventory Solution team members in the development and implementation of inventory management programs.
  • Facilitate requirement-gathering initiatives between Wurth MSM teams and respective customer functional area and subject matter experts. This includes and is not limited to meeting coordination, job shadowing, obtaining sample reports, invoice/billing requirement gathering and facilitation. Obtain available customer process and facility maps and other applicable business documents to support requirement-gathering initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain/Material Project Manager and the customer to identify requirements and processes to manage critical materials, item descriptions, customer item numbers, material issuing and replenishment processes, solution design and equipment needs.
  • Manage internal and external system resources to ensure technology and solution equipment are procured, installed and operational.
  • Manage business data cut over plans, timelines and resources to ensure systems, process and resource readiness for go live to include; final inventory cycle count, data load into solution, ordering of go live materials for replenishment, reconciliation and system readiness and core business process check points.
  • Collaborate with the Material Project Manager and Inventory and Logistics teams to ensure inventory levels and fulfillment processes are adequate to ensure a successful and efficient go live without disruption to customer's business.
  • Manage Go live and post go live business solution needs on behalf of the customer and NSI. Working with or through Sales Project Manager as applicable.
  • Develop and coordinate post-go live support processes and documentation based on the customer's solution management requirements; facilitate applicable support transition and communications.
  • Provide on-going, post go-live solution maintenance support to include but not limited to the following processes:
  • Adding/Deleting Materials and/or Employees to the Solution
  • Reporting/Auditing Processes
  • Trouble shooting solution/system issues
  • Conduct 30, 90, 180-day audits to ensure solution effectiveness
  • Obtain in depth knowledge of solutions offered, cost to serve and overall profitability goals of each solution and customer. Solution types include VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory), CMI (Customer Managed Inventory), Crib/Bin Management, Vending Machines.
  • Maintain high-level product knowledge to ensure proper solution design and maximize solution efficiency and profitability.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associates degree and/or 2 years or more related experience. Direct Customer interaction and problem solving experience is a plus. Strong administrative, planning and organizing experience is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and keep abreast of any Sales/Marketing related issues. Ability to effectively communicate and present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team leaders, associates and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percentages and rates. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must possess decision making skills, exercise discretion and independent judgment and have strong analytical skills.

OTHER SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Exhibit and maintain confidentiality with company related issues and materials. Must have a strong emphasis in planning and organizing. Ability to be objective and open-minded when working with other associates, team leaders and managers. Able to work independently or within a team environment. Ability to use personal computers and applicable computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office and SAP) Ability to travel if required.
