Sr. Systems Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer with experience in systems development, particularly in reconnaissance and surveillance sensor systems on airborne, ground, and mobile platforms for United States government and international customers. The qualified candidate must be capable of performing system definition, decomposition, design, integration, verification, and validation of complete systems. The candidate must also be capable of methodically troubleshooting complex sensor and related systems, such as networked computer subsystems, airborne data links, imagery sensors (electro-optical and infrared), ground moving target and synthetic aperture radars, radio signal collection systems, and other special sensor technologies. A well-rounded understanding of software, hardware, and mechanical engineering is essential.

Responsibilities

• Development of system requirements from customer SOW and contract CDRLs

• System design and integration onto airborne, ground, and mobile platforms

• Oversight and management of system integration and test activities

• Development of test plans, specifications, and other related system engineering documents

• Interfacing with program management, customers, and customer representatives

• Developing and presenting requirements, designs, plans, and results to customers and end-users

• Supporting troubleshooting and maintenance planning for fielded systems

Essential Skills

• Systems design

• Requirements management and definition

• Experience in at least one engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, software, etc.)

• Well-rounded understanding of other disciplines

• System or component development for systems integration onto collection platforms

• Developing requirements or designing to requirements

• System design and interface control

• Compliance standards including military and avionics

• Test plan and test procedure development and execution

• Integration, troubleshooting, and system testing

• Verification and validation of systems to internal and customer requirements

• Experience with Radar, Cameras, Weapon systems, RF, radio communication

• Proficiency in design tools such as Visio, AutoCAD, or equivalent

• 10+ years of direct experience in system engineering and development

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS/MS in electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering; mathematics, or physics, or equivalent work experience

• United States of America citizenship

• Current secret clearance or higher, or ability to acquire a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance

• Proficiency in MATLAB and/or SysML is preferred

• Ability to work independently and within an engineering team of varying disciplines

• INCOSE certification is a plus

Work Environment

The company specializes in systems engineering, electronic product development, and contract management services to the Federal Government and its prime contractors. They are a premier developer of integrated surveillance and reconnaissance systems on manned and unmanned airborne, ground, surface, and man-packable platforms. The work environment includes collaboration with various engineering teams and the use of advanced design tools and technologies. The company is currently working on a new program that involves designing their own radio and building it into a core competency.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00
