Community Health Systems Respiratory Therapist Student PRN in Gadsden, Alabama
PRN / Shift Varies
The Respiratory Technician performs basic and intermediate respiratory care procedures based on patient need and physician orders in accordance with standards, policies and procedures, under direct supervision of a credentialed respiratory therapist. The technician may assist the respiratory therapist with performance of expert respiratory care procedures. He/she participates in quality assurance and performance improvement activities. He/she participates in Joint Commission readiness activities and standards for the department.
Education REQUIRED: High school Diploma or Equivalent. Enrolled in a respiratory therapy program accredited by CoARC under CAAHEP or successor organization.
Experience REQUIRED: Enrolled in a respiratory therapy program accredited by CoARC under CAAHEP or successor organization.
Licenses/Certificates REQUIRED: Student exemption form Licensure by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy (ASBRT) while employed (per ASBRT Rule 798-X-5-.14). Student status is limited to four years. Maintains current training in Basic Life Support (BLS).
