WSP is currently seeking a Biologist with Florida specific experience to join Our Dynamic Water Resources Team in our Gainesville, FL location. Are you a biologist with 3 to 5 years’ experience who enjoys a mix of field and office work? Are you looking to work with a worldwide company with an established team of professionals? Your Impact
Ecological and environmental field data collection, including habitat assessment, water quality sampling, and sediment sampling
Wetland Delineation
Data analysis
Report writing
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Scientist with 3 to 5 years’ experience
Minimum BS Degree in environmental, ecological, biological or similar sciences
Comprehensive Wetland Delineation skills
Have SCI and HA certifications
Knowledge of biologic, ecologic and other environmental issues in Florida
Ability to analyze and summarize water quality, sediment, and ecological data via statistical routines and data product creation
Ability to clearly and concisely report findings for project deliverables
Proficiency with preparing state, local and federal permitting documents, including NEPA
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products
Proficiency using Arc GIS
Proficiency with GPS units
Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to analyze data
Attention to detail
Works well in Team environment, develops team schedules, work objectives and mentors junior staff
Must be able to travel locally and out of area when necessary
Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Wood’s driving (MVR) policy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to applicant who can show experience conducting wetland delineation, water and sediment collection, boat operation, ArcGIS skills and Florida and NEPA permitting experience.
