Explore Operations in the Gulf of Mexico

O&M Internship position could be in one of the following crafts:

· Operator

· Mechanic

· Automation Technician

· Electrician

The internship could be on any offshore deepwater facility including Blind Faith (Semi-submersible floating facility), Petronius (Compliant Tower facility), Tahiti (Spar), Anchor (Semi-submersible floating facility) Jack St. Malo (Semi-submersible floating facility) and Bigfoot (Semi-submersible floating facility).

Learn & Develop Operations & Maintenance Skills

· Operator – Safely monitor and optimize offshore production process variables. Ensure that all production equipment is operating at peak reliability and efficiency and acquiring and storing data. Perform duties associated with offshore oil and gas producing operations including well testing, record keeping, monitoring computer control systems, safety device testing, process and utility systems, normal crane and/or rigging operations, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), etc

· Mechanic – Safely troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and diagnose a wide array of rotating & mechanical equipment associated with offshore oil and gas-producing operations including but not limited to natural gas reciprocating engines and compressors, centrifugal compressors, turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating pumps generators, diesel engines, cranes, etc.

· Automation Technician – Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide array of automation equipment associated with offshore oil and gas producing operations including but not limited to DCS systems (Yokogawa, Foxboro), Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley, GE, Siemens, and Modicon), Human Machine Interface (HMI) software applications (Intouch "WonderWare", Allen Bradley RSView, Yokogawa Centum), pressure, level, flow and temperature transmitters, electronic devices (Flow computers), various types of networks (TCPIP, ControlNet, DeviceNet), area Classification, P&ID drawings, safe charts, field SCADA systems, etc.

· Electrician – Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide array of electrical and electronic equipment associated with offshore oil and gas-producing operations including but not limited to electrical motors, electrical switchgear and motor control centers, distribution transformers, lighting systems, diesel and turbine generators, DC and UPS systems, HVAC systems, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed an associate or bachelor’s degree in related discipline within the past 2 years. (i.e. associates in Petroleum Services, Industrial Technology, Process Technology, Diesel mechanic, Instrumentation, Electrical, etc.)

  • (or) military-related experience in lieu of degree and discharged within the past 2 years.

Ability and willingness to...

  • Successfully complete pre-employment checks including:

  • drug and alcohol screening

  • background check

  • fitness for duty exam (physical & functional capacity examination)

  • complete HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) post-hire

  • work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), and CMMS.

  • Capable of simultaneously performing multiple tasks

  • Familiarity with reliability efforts for a variety of safety, environmental, and production-related issues.

  • Broad knowledge of operations process systems, mechanical equipment, and/or electrical equipment.

Relocation will not be considered.

International assignments won't be considered.
