Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The Staff Accountant is responsible for accounting responsibilities including preparing routine journal entries, preparing standard account reconciliations, preparing regulatory filings, and preparing financial reporting. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and analyze financial results for Management Complete monthly/quarterly/annual regulatory filings Maintain process documentation and ensure internal control compliance Prepare information for internal and external audit Prepare Plant Capacity Utilization Report – Quarterly & Annually Assist with Material Master Costing Assist with Budget Files Prepare and post journal entries as a part of month-end close procedures Process Month End Close Cycles Backup for Cost Accountant Research General Ledger activity Special projects as assigned Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience 1 - 2 years of accounting-related experience Technology skills, including MS Office (specifically Excel) and ERP Systems, preferably SAP Attention to detail, data integrity and accuracy Strong analytical and critical thinking ability The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of the work and may not include all the duties associated with this position. #firstinpeople
