We are looking for a Sr. Industrial Hygienist to join our EHS team in Geismar, LA.

Weare seeking a qualified and experienced Sr. Industrial Hygienist. The successful candidate will assist both front-line employees and management with understanding and measuring the value of proactive safety and health programs and play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace environmental hazards. The Sr. Industrial Hygienist will work closely with various operating unit managers and EHS teams at our Geismar, LA facility and collaborate with representatives from other BASF facilities to ensure compliance with regulations and the implementation of best practices. This individual will provide comprehensive industrial hygiene support to the BASF Geismar, LA facility.

Conduct comprehensive assessments of workplace environments to identify potential chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards
Perform air sampling, noise monitoring, and other evaluations to quantify exposure levels.
Analyze data to determine compliance with established occupational exposure limits and to evaluate performance of control measures
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations concerning occupational health and safety, including OSHA, NIOSH, and EPA standards
Develop and maintain documentation for compliance with regulatory requirements, including reports, logs, and monitoring records
Manage site-wide exposure assessmentprocess
Recommend and implement effective engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to mitigate identified risks
Collaborate with management and safety teams to develop and implement effective safety programs and initiatives
Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on industrial hygiene practices, hazard recognition, and safe work practices
Provide guidance and support to plant personnel on industrial hygiene issues and best practices
Work with medical personnel to evaluate health data and trends related to occupational exposures
Provide IH support to medical personnel with Developmental and Reproductive Toxin assessments
Participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations for management
If you...
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial hygiene preferably in a multi-plant environment.
Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
Proficient in using industrial hygiene sampling equipment and software for data entry and analysis
Skill in analyzing and evaluating a wide variety of technical data, test results, reports, and plans.
Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate investigative and narrative reports
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Ability to carry sampling equipment, climb structures and work at height, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Experience in chemical manufacturing is required.
