Position or Functional Title: Financial Market Infrastructure Risk Management (FMIRM) Risk Analyst
Description
Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs) are the external entities in each market that Citi relies on for payment, trading, clearing, settlement, and depository services. Examples of FMIs include:
Funds transfer (cash payments) systems
Equities, fixed income, derivatives exchanges
Alternative trading systems
Securities and derivatives clearinghouses
Securities depositories
Energy (Power/Gas) transmission networks
Consumer networks (credit card associations and ATM networks)
FMIRM manages the risks associated with Citi becoming a member of these entities globally. FMIRM is responsible for establishing the parameters, methodologies and associated controls for conducting Risk Assessments of FMIs.
FMIRM works in parallel with various lines of business within the First Line of Defense (1LoD) (e.g., Services, Markets) that establish direct relationships with FMIs, in order to identify and mitigate Citi’s risk and exposures prior to joining these FMIs. FMIRM also serves as a direct liaison with regulators (e.g. OCC, Fed) on FMI risk-related matters.
Job Description
The FMIRM Risk Analyst is primarily responsible for conducting risk analyses by working closely with the various lines of business across 1LoD.
Examples of job responsibilities include:
Analyze risks associated with new FMI memberships and prepare summaries for Business Management approval.
Participate in the quarterly risk assessment process for MCAs/Controls that are owned by FMIRM.
Ensure all completed FMI risk analyses, supporting data, and approvals are correctly captured in “PRISM” - the FMIRM database.
Gather, analyze and monitor quarterly reporting of FMI exposures to regulators (e.g., OCC, Fed).
Support portfolio reporting to senior management and regulators; respond to ad hoc requests for FMI risk exposure information and supporting analysis.
Adhere to FMIRM Policy on all matters pertaining to the effective risk management of FMIs.
Qualifications:
Knowledge/Educational Requirements:
BA required/ MBA preferred
In-depth knowledge of financial markets and products such as securities, derivatives (OTC derivatives) and/or cash clearing.
3 plus years experience in Risk Management, Corporate or Banking, Relationship Management, or Trading Operations. Prior roles with a strong data analysis component preferred. Experience with designing and using reports in Tableau is also a plus.
