Amergis School-Based Behavior Technician in Glendale, California
Glendale Unified School District - Floater BehaviorTechnician
Pay Rate: $24 - $27 /HR
Role Description:
Substitute behavior technician for all GUSD schools.
Assigned daily to cover absences in various schools and settings.
Must be in or near Glendale by 7:45 AM for assignments.
Flexible with traveling to different school sites.
Duties include assisting with toileting, bathroom routines, and diaper changing.
May cover high-acuity cases with severe problem behaviors.
Responsibilities:
Provide instructional and behavioral support.
Build rapport with students and staff quickly.
Strong knowledge of ABA principles and data collection methods.
Review student IEPs or BIPs for behavior management strategies.
Use visual supports as needed.
Assist with feeding and toileting students.
Supervision:
Daily assignments communicated by the Special Ed. office.
Must have strong communication skills and be a team player.
Duties:
Support instruction for students with special needs.
Monitor and report student behavior.
Provide modeling, emotional support, and general guidance.
Assist with personal care needs and emergency care.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of children with disabilities, ABA methods, and behavior management.
Ability to assist in Special Education environments and implement behavior techniques.
Patient, calm, and able to handle stressful conditions.
Physical ability to assist students with disabilities.
Dependable, punctual, and maintain confidentiality.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of study at a higher education institution or an Associate's degree.
One year of experience working with handicapped students, including those with autism.
Valid California Class C driver's license and insurability.
