Job Title: Sr Civil Designer
Job Description
As a Sr Civil Designer, you will demonstrate exceptional expertise and efficiency in stormwater management design and permitting across many projects. This role is ideal for individuals with exhibited proficiency in grading and drainage designs, stormwater management (SWM) designs, and erosion control (E&S) designs.
Responsibilities
Prepare Preliminary Grading Plans and Stormwater Management Due Diligence Summaries per published company standards.
Evaluate conceptual layout plans prepared by the CAD Department to minimize regulatory burden and reduce construction costs/timing without sacrificing project objectives.
Establish overall grading and SWM design strategy and prepare plans that balance permitting requirements, project objectives, budgetary constraints, and ease of construction/maintenance.
Prepare Scope of Work documents for infiltration testing as needed to direct Geotech consultants.
Prepare E&S design calculations, plans, details, and reports.
Prepare SWM/PCSM design calculations such as basin sizing, hydrology models, and storm pipe sizing.
Compile SWM/PCSM Reports and appendices using company templates.
Prepare utility designs coordinated with the rest of the plan set and the work of other disciplines (e.g., MEP, Architecture).
Identify and document all necessary waivers and variances related to stormwater management, grading, and drainage; prepare draft justifications for review and approval by the Project Manager.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with NPDES and stormwater management
Strong skills in civil design, land development, and site development
Ability to perform design calculations, grading plans, and hydrology models
Capability to draft erosion control plans and stormwater design
Experience in civil engineering drafting and site design
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in civil site design and construction
Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
Experience in wastewater management
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and permitting processes
Work Environment
This position is 100% remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home. Our projects are primarily located in the eastern half of Pennsylvania and central and southern New Jersey. We serve private sector real estate development companies and self-developing end users. Our expertise spans a wide variety of market sectors, particularly thriving on projects with substantial site design and stormwater design/permitting needs.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80000.00/hr.
