Job Title: MIG Welder

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled MIG Welder responsible for fitting and welding steel tray racks for grocery stores. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG welding on 18 gauge to 14 gauge steel, using a silicon bronze filler rod, and be proficient in reading blueprints. This role requires working in a non-climate controlled facility and performing miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure Specification.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements.

  • MIG weld steel components based on the specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings.

  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.

  • Follow Welding Procedure Specifications.

  • Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators.

  • Assemble items as instructed by floor supervisor.

  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.

  • Follow all company rules and policies.

  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.

  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards.

  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.

  • Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually (up to 60 pounds).

  • Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with MIG welding on 18 gauge to 14 gauge steel.

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints.

  • Experience with aluminum and/or stainless steel.

  • Ability to lift heavy items up to 60 pounds consistently.

  • Ability to identify and measure material.

  • Ability to produce quality products consistently.

  • Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and in written form.

  • Must be reliable with a strong work ethic.

  • Willingness to take a weld test at interview.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Certification from a two-year college or technical school preferred.

  • One-year related experience and/or training required.

  • Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding required.

Work Environment

This role is based in an industrial, non-climate controlled manufacturing plant. The work schedule is from 6 AM to 2:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Prairie, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00
