Aerotek Electrical Assembly Technician in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Description
This is a 1st shift Electrical Assembly Position working in the new wiring department. The working hours are 5a-3:30p (Mon-Thurs) OT Friday and Saturday- they employees are told on Wednesday morning if overtime is going to be worked Friday and/or Saturday.
Interview/8 Hour Guarantee/ First Week Expectations:
Candidates will have to answer a list of questions before being submitted to the position
Interviews will take place on Mondays from 7a-8a (all onboarding needs to be completed prior to)
If they want to proceed with the candidate, they will be trained on the shop floor for 8 hours (paid).
**They will be evaluated on the following: Stripping wire, adding crimps, hand eye coordination, add pin connect, add torque connector.
- After completion of 8 hours, if the leadership teams sees an opportunity for them, they will invite them to return the following day (CTH)
Jobs will be set up for the day and what needs to get completed. By set up, the panel boxes, switchboards, wire, etc will be put together on a shelf and prepared to build. They are working within a manufacturing facility (large and very clean/quiet), where they are assembling solar panel power boxes and switchboards. Responsibilities' include: pulling wire and spooling it, reading print to determine where the parts need to be assembled into the back of the panel where wires are fed through. They are working as a team on the assembly line, non automated, as well as during the wire spooling. Working within one specific area all day, either wire spooling or assembly using hand tools and air power tools and torque wrenches, screwing in screws and nuts and bolts and stripping wires into metal plates to assemble power boxes. They will be expected to assemble 64 panels per day, once up to speed, after training.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00
