Team Summary
The Maintenance Excellence Manager is a key member of the Corporate Reliability & Maintenance team and works closely with corporate peers focusing on Reliability Engineering, Materials Management, and Training pillars. This role will report to the Sr. Director of Operations Maintenance Transformation.
Job Summary
This collaborative role develops a strategic plan to implement world-class procedures, deploy the adoption of technology, and improve Maintenance Work Management Processes. This is a dynamic role, working with Residential and Commercial site Maintenance Managers and Supervisors, Planners/ Schedulers, and Crafts personnel in assessing the current state of the work management execution, identifying specific improvement initiatives, and providing resources and leadership to solve at the site-level. This role works closely with Corporate and site-level MRO inventory leads to implement effective MRO consumption methods to increase efficiencies and improve MRO data transactions. This role works with GAF Business Systems to enhance the technical platforms (CMMS) to drive efficiency at the sites, as well as to provide robust integrations and configurations to further improve efficiency. This role works with site Reliability Engineers to support RCFA activities as needed, and to execute PM and PdM programs developed for asset care programs. This is a remote-based position with travel requirements to support plant needs and projects. This role also is key to implementing processes and standards for GAF outage/shutdown preparedness, coordination, execution, and close out.
Essential Duties
Strategy Development and Tactical Deployment
Perform plant-level assessments to identify current state measured against best practices in all areas of maintenance work management.
Development of a prioritized roadmap for implementation of improvement plan, aligned with overall R&M vision and uniform processes across all sites.
Determines change readiness and identifies needed resources both short-term and long-term to execute the improvement plan.
Works directly with the site Planners/Schedulers/Supervisors and can tailor site-specific needs on a case-by-case basis.
Works with supporting organizations on a unified business approach for the GAF network.
Chairs and facilitates periodic performance dialogues with supporting KPIs both upward and downward in the organization.
Participates and partners in all Maintenance performance discussions to ensure alignment and timing of projects with overall maintenance business initiatives.
Performs cost analysis to optimize GAF craft labor efficiencies, as well as utilization of outside contractors..
Supports development of Asset Bills of Materials and “Where Used” analysis.
Qualifications Required
Associate’s Degree Technical, Engineering, or Maintenance Field Required
Minimum of 5 years Industrial or Manufacturing Maintenance Management, Planning, or Project Management.
Maint Work Identification: WO Creation, Review, Backlog control, and Prioritization, WO Planning, WO Scheduling, WO Execution and Documentation, WO Closure
Demonstrated history of improving maintenance organizational processes.
Must have extensive experience in modifying/enriching CMMS functionality to enable a user-friendly, and efficient technical solution.
Must have technical aptitude with mechanical and electrical assemblies.
Qualifications Preferred
Expert with CMMS systems, especially Job Planning, Kitting, and Scheduling applications.
Must have technical aptitude with mechanical and electrical assemblies.
Demonstrated ability to leverage craftsmen’s feedback communication to institutionalize a robust job plan library through WO review and audit.
Strong communication skills that are adaptable to all levels of an organization

Annual Salary Range: 126,000-161,000
