Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

A metal stamping company in West Michigan that supports the furniture and commercial hardware industry is looking for a manufacturing engineer. The role involves supporting the team by deep diving into the root causes of process inefficiencies, driving documentation, and implementing changes to improve operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis of current process inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.

• Monitor time studies and review capacity reports to ensure presses are level loaded.

• Level load press work.

• Ensure plant readiness for new tooling from a launch perspective.

• Work alongside a cross-functional team including operations, quality, engineering, and leadership.

• Discuss processes with operators to identify changes that could improve efficiency.

• Utilize and create work instructions and standardized operating procedures for manufacturing.

• Update process flows.

Essential Skills

• Manufacturing Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Process Engineering experience

• Metal stamping / secondary assembly / high volume manufacturing experience

• Root cause analysis

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Plex ERP Experience

• APQP PPAP Process (Has taken part of set-up of APQP /APQP meetings / knows how to read PPAP documentation)

• Gauge Layouts - Decipher data from CPK

• Bachelors Degree

• IATF Certified Environment - Right now ISO Certified wants to go to IATF

Work Environment

This is an on-site role with flexible start hours between 8 or 9 AM.

The individual will be the only manufacturing engineer in the organization, providing opportunities to lead projects and offer input.

The company is currently ISO certified and aims to transition to IATF certification.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $43.27/hr.
