Actalent Environmental Monitoring Technician in Greenville, North Carolina
Job Title: QC TechnologistJob Description
A successful candidate will perform Environmental Monitoring tasks in support of Steriles production within classified areas. This role requires adherence to company values of integrity, innovation, intensity, and involvement. The job involves aseptic techniques, including aseptic gowning and working in cleanrooms to monitor areas where sterile products are filled and manufactured. The typical shift hours are 6 PM to 6 AM on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule.
Responsibilities
Perform analyses using instrumental and automated methods following prescribed procedures and techniques.
Generate valid data and report results on the appropriate database compared to established specifications while adhering to GMPs.
Compare laboratory results with specifications for acceptability and determine if repetition or out-of-specification (OOS) actions are required.
Maintain equipment and troubleshoot instrumentation, procedural, or production problems.
Review and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and analytical procedures as needed.
Schedule activities to meet target dates for customer needs.
Follow all job-related safety and training requirements.
Perform tasks as assigned by area supervision or designee.
Withstand extended periods of standing, walking, and bending.
Essential Skills
High school diploma including laboratory work in a science discipline.
1 year of related experience in lab bench work, utilizing instrumentation, and reporting data.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures.
Good knowledge of quality and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry, including GMPs.
Good interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
Ability to apply mathematical operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate's degree in a science-related field, preferably Biology.
Relevant post-secondary educational courses.
Organization and detailed planning skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
Work Environment
The position focuses primarily on production line support, requiring the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, and crouch for prolonged periods. The role involves lifting, carrying, and/or moving light to medium weights of 25-50 pounds, occasionally pushing or pulling 50-100+ pounds. Dexterity in arms, hands, and fingers, including grasping and typing for prolonged periods, is necessary. Visual acuity for using a keyboard, computer monitor, operating equipment, and reading materials for extended periods is required. The role also necessitates ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about the environmental lab. This is a contingent position operating on a Sunday to Saturday schedule.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
