Our site manufacture a variety of resins, including acrylics, polyurethanes, polyesters, and epoxies, used in various
automotivecoatings. We are a global expert in the development, production and marketing of innovative and sustainableautomotiveOEM and refinish coatings (paint) as well as applied surface treatments for metal, plastic and glass substrates in a wide range of industries. The Greenville plant was also just named 2025 Business of the Year by the Darke County Community Improvement Corporation (CIC). The Greenville site was recognized for consistently contributing to the community as an employer of choice, long-term business partner, and supporter of various social and education efforts throughout Darke County, Ohio.
We are seeking a positive and knowledgeable leader to provide leadership and support for EHS, OS, IH and security management systems and initiatives. You will be actively involved in the production unitssupporting day-to-day operations to ensure activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner. In addition, you will improve the safety mindset of our teams through facilitating classroom training and providing one-on-one feedback to individualemployees and ensuring regulations and processes are being upheld and improved where possible.
Your day-to-day includes.....
Using your effective communication skills to develop effective working relationships with site management, employees, the EHS community and regulatory agencies/third parties and to be a positive change agent within the organization.
Leveraging your detailed knowledge (theory and application) of the Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene disciplines to develop and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures for the site.
Drawing upon your experience in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Emergency Response program management in a manufacturing environment and education to lead and participate in risk assessments and work to accurately address identified deficiencies.
Providing tactical and strategic guidance to the site leadership on critical EHS issues and ensuring adherence to corporate EHS policies and procedures including the Responsible Care® Management Systems.
Providing training content, and where appropriate, delivering training or coaching; facilitating the sharing of programs, procedures, tools, and successfully demonstrated practices across the BASF EHS organization.
Prioritizing issues and opportunities to drive the continuous improvement of EHS processes and systems.
Utilizing your strong organizational skills to identify and monitor key performance indicators within your area of responsibility and make appropriate adjustments to improve EHS performance.
Leading and participating in project reviews, process hazard analyses, and change management processes.
Utilizing your solid analytical and computer skills to ensure all internal and external reporting requirements are met, and recommend efficiency improvements to the data generation and reporting process in partnership with operations to optimize available systems and technology.
If you...
Hold a degree in a Science related discipline such as Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or Chemistry (Bachelor's strongly preferred; may consider Associates with 15+ expertise).
Have 7+ years’ experience in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Emergency Response program management in a manufacturing environment (Chemical or Petrol Chemical preferred).
Showcase effective communication and interpersonal skills, strong collaboration, leadership, teamwork and customer focus.
Have the ability to influence and impact, work independently with minimal supervision and interact with all levels of the organization and local and federal regulatory agencies.
Are a self-starter and demonstrate strong sense of initiative.
Have strong computer skills (MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint and MS-Teams).
