Powered Aire Mechanical Engineer in Greenville, Pennsylvania

Powered Aire Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work in Greenville, PA, and design and develop industrial and commercial stainless steel air curtains and related mechanical accessories for the HVAC industry and use lean principles to streamline production and improve overall production efficiency.

Specific duties include:

  1. Performing 2D and 3D layout, 3D stress analysis and flow simulation, research, prototyping, and modeling for mechanical air curtains in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD per customer requirements
  2. Preparing cost estimates to ensure feasibility of design and profitability
  3. Using 3D printers to build models and parts for evaluation and usage
  4. Providing engineering support to a wide range of customers (architects, installers, representatives, etc.) and supervising the work of subordinate engineers
  5. Maintaining engineering and architectural files (BIM, Revit, CAD, etc.) and creating engineering documentation detailing technical information, troubleshooting and maintenance related to products
  6. Creating lean initiatives that streamline production and help initiate cost reduction and improve overall product quality
  7. Collaborating with support sales, production and quality control through design and process improvements related to production and operations
  8. Incorporating concepts to product lines
  9. Monitoring equipment and identifying improvement opportunities
  10. Developing new air curtains that meet current and evolving market needs

This position will supervise two Electrical Engineers. This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of related experience in a mechanical or design engineering position. The candidate must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following:

  1. Developing industrial or commercial products
  2. Using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD to design industrial or commercial products
  3. Using Lean principles to streamline production and improve production efficiency
  4. Performing 3D stress analysis and flow simulation using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  5. Creating engineering documentation detailing technical information, troubleshooting and maintenance information related to products.
