What You’ll Do:
This is a Full-Time Salaried Position
The Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for supporting all GNC Quality Control activities for new and existing commercial product releases as well as routine inspection of existing products to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and GNC policy.
•Develop, review, and approve Global Policies and Standards, Position Papers, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions that pertain to the Quality Management oversight of products.
• Perform Net Contents analysis and Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) inspections of all New Commercial Products and other products as necessary.
• Co-management of GNC’s Stability Program under the Director of Quality Control
• Provide support for product releases for Domestic and International
• Support monitoring of FDA Compliance Actions, FDA Dashboard Reporting, and Warning Letters analysis.
• Provide support for E-Commerce and Wholesale Testing Programs
• Functional Power User of GNC’s Enterprise Quality Management System (EQMS) Veeva QualityOne Vault
• Provide support for Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) activities such as Certificate of Analysis Review and Approval.
• Responsible for the storage management of testing protocol documentation and first commercial release dossiers.
• Responsible for developing and providing statistical analysis for any major component of the Quality Management System.
• Backup for handling customer complaints
• Support for Market Actions (Recalls, Mock Recalls, etc.)
• Lead and/or Assist in GNC Regulatory Inspections
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required.
• 5+ years of quality or product development experience in a Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) or regulated manufacturing industry preferred.
• ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification is preferred, but not required.
• Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification is preferred, but not required.
• Technical writing experience
• Experience in relevant regulations to the dietary supplement and conventional foods industries, specifically Code of Federal Regulations Title 21 Parts 100-199.
• Strong knowledge regarding the nomenclature of common and usual names of dietary ingredients, food additives, GRAS substances, color additives, and processing aids
• Understanding of regulatory requirements specific to documentation and standards of evidence
• High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
• Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
