Job Description Summary

Do you have significant experience with Steam Turbine (ST) technology? Are you interested in leading a team which develops ST service solutions for challenging CM&U (Conversion, Modification & Uprate) projects? Do you like working in a fast-paced environment and supporting a highly varied fleet?

As the Technical Leader, ST CM&U ITO (Inquiry to Order) Engineering you will help lead a team which creates technical solutions in the ITO phase. Job Description

Essential Functions :

  • Understand Customer needs and lead the team to create winning technical proposals for value-added ST CM&U offers.

  • Drive team Priorities and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with accountability.

  • Act as a main contact and representative to interfacing teams including commercial operations, sales, sourcing, manufacturing, project management, regional application engineering, requisition engineering, design engineering, Customers, etc.

  • Assign and manage proposal work, study work, process improvement work and other ITO activities.

  • Provide technical guidance, training, coaching, review and approval of work to ITO engineers.

  • Act as a focal point for prioritization, gate reviews, operating reviews, Technical Risk Assessment processes and Technical Readiness Review processes.

  • Personally execute some ITO tasks (proposals, studies, etc.) as needs and availability dictate.

  • Participate in and lead Lean, continuous improvement, and quality initiatives; help drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Culture, standard work, process improvements.

  • Support the team manager with various other strategic and tactical leadership activities potentially including occasional assistance with HRSG CM&U ITO efforts.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other suitable degree/discipline.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Steam Turbine and/or closely related disciplines, preferably including CM&U work.

  • Strong track record of delivering on challenges while leading multiple simultaneous projects

  • Experienced in project management

Desired Characteristics:

  • Self-starter with energy and a positive attitude, plus a legacy of delivering on commitments in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Experience with legacy Alstom and legacy GE ST technology and configurations.

  • Experience in Application and/or Requisition Engineering.

  • Familiarity with GEV ST Engineering, Accessories, Controls and BOP teams, as well as their practices and tools.

  • Familiarity with ST manufacturing and servicing practices.

  • Proven ability to work well with global colleagues in a matrixed team environment.

  • Willingness to embrace change and develop process improvements.

  • Deep understanding of the GEV Services Commercial Risk process (R-Process) with focus on engineering process steps.

  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally (<10%), sometimes on short notice.

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $111,200.00 - 185,400.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, geographic location, and skill set.

This position is also eligible for a 15% annual performance bonus.

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%,120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
