Electrical Engineer III-Power Systems Location: Greenwood Village, CO CLP Engineering (CLPE) is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years' experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers. CLPE is seeking talented Electrical Engineers with power systems background and 5+ years' experience to join us. Duties & Responsibilities: * Assist in designing sub-transmission systems, substations, switching stations, and commercial/industrial power distribution system. * Develop concept design alternatives, engineering calculations, analysis, and engineering estimates for small-scale system improvement projects for substations and distribution systems. * Assist Lead Engineers with major capital upgrade projects. * Analyze electrical fault events, power quality issues, system loading scenarios and assist with implementing corrective actions. * Perform site surveys for new utility service requests, develop concept design alternatives and present to CLPE management and customer. * Create system model for large-scale power system in ETAP (or similar software) and perform various power system analysis/studies. * Gain and maintain intermediate knowledge of power system protection and relaying schemes for electrical distribution system. * Create, update, and maintain GIS database for large-scale electrical distribution systems * Schedule and attend field walk-downs with our Customers to understand and determine project requirements. *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Qualifications & Skills: * BS degree, Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university. Power systems emphasis preferred. * Familiar with power system analysis, distribution system modeling, and protective device coordination * Five-eight (5-8) years' related engineering work experience * Experience with medium voltage electrical substations and distribution system * Experience with ETAP or similar software. * Must be a Team Player with excellent oral and written communication skills Travel: * Up to 20% to client sites outside CO. Other Requirements: * You must be a U.S. citizen. * Valid driver's license required. * You will be required to obtain Military Base Security Access Clearance.
