Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Lead

Job Description

As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for unloading and receiving incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of items received, sorting shipments, and ensuring they reach their correct destinations. You will also be tasked with checking stock for damage, operating warehouse equipment, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Responsibilities

  • Unload and receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of items received.

  • Sort received shipments and assign them to their correct destinations.

  • Check stock for damage and wear, report faults and discrepancies.

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Inspect goods for damage and report any discrepancies or issues.

  • Label and store items in appropriate locations within the warehouse.

  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and report shortages or overages.

  • Communicate ordering needs with the admin and Site Leadership team.

  • Use inventory management systems to track and update stock levels.

  • Coordinate consumables distribution to other sites and prepare orders for shipment, including labeling and documentation.

  • Manage inventory levels of seed treatment chemicals.

  • Keep the warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.

  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Prepare and submit reports on inventory levels, shipments, and other relevant data.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.

  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems.

  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Customer service experience.

  • Experience with order picking and inventory management.

  • Supply chain knowledge.

  • Manufacturing experience.

Work Environment

The work environment is a 250,000 square feet, temperature-controlled facility that is clean and highly automated. Ergonomics are emphasized with adjustable tables, cushion mats, and available chairs. The break room is well-equipped, and lockers are provided for personal belongings. The dress code is casual, including long sleeves hi vis, steel toes paid by client, and pants. Safety glasses, lab coats, and gloves are provided in specific areas. The work is mostly independent, allowing employees to listen to music with one headphone. There may be mandatory overtime, particularly from January to early May, including potential Saturday shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00
