Sr Operator, Manufacturing

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a Sr Operator, Manufacturing to join our ambitious and world-class team. As a Sr Operator, Manufacturing, you will play a key role in the production process, ensuring flawless execution and collaborating with the engineering team on solution validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess core skills required for critical production positions and strictly follow blueprints, work instructions, or operating procedures for pre-checking, assembly, testing, final inspection, and other operations.

  • Ensure quantity and quality assurance by completing daily production tasks and meeting quality and safety objectives set by the supervisor.

  • Use the PPI (Practical Process Improvement) system to suggest, initiate, or drive production improvements. This may involve enhancing equipment utilization, capacity, process flow, work environment, and other areas to improve efficiency, quality metrics, and waste reduction.

  • Monitor the First Pass Yield (FPY) data on the OIC platform and collaborate with the engineering team to improve major issues recorded, ultimately increasing the pass rate.

  • Acquire multiple skills and provide cross-line support, completing on-the-job skill training for new employees according to the training process.

  • Actively assist engineers with project validation, prototype assembly, and testing.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Equivalent experience in electromechanical or instrument-related fields will also be considered.

  • Proficient in computer operations, with prioritized English reading and writing skills.

  • Ability to understand simple mechanical assembly drawings (such as exploded assembly drawings), circuit control schematics, liquid pipeline diagrams, pneumatic principle diagrams, etc.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in assembly and testing of electromechanical products, with preference given to candidates with experience in the instrument industry.

  • Experience in optical system assembly or debugging is a plus.

  • Strong hands-on ability, data analysis skills, and a strong willingness to learn and adapt.

  • Strong quality awareness and ability to analyze quality issues using PPI tools.

  • Communication skills: Ability to bridge communication between the production line and the engineering team.
