About you and this role
Dow is looking for the nextSenior Improvement EngineerinHahnville, LA. This role serves as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical and organizational skills to drive the plant level continuous improvement program targeted at delivering maximum value from the assets, while continuously improving process safety and production efficiency. This role requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.
The successful candidate for this job will be a member of the SCO Hydrocarbons Improvement Team. This team improves the plants’ performance by developing and implementing projects to increase profitability and sustainability. These projects include safety system upgrades, yield and conversion energy improvements, operating discipline enhancements, capacity upgrades, control system upgrades, and various cost reduction efforts. The improvement team also assists operations and plant staff in determining how best to run the plant efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
Lead and support plant continuous improvement activities. Serve in specific GPM roles of project manager or manufacturing representative on multiple projects.
Partnering with plant operation personnel to secure process data for identification of technology gaps, improvement opportunities, and project definitions.
Identifying plant improvements that are aligned to the Global and Plant Specific Technology Plan objectives.
Validating improvement opportunities using global tools and assists in building the Plant Specific Technology Plan.
Providing technical plant support in specialized areas including process simulation, modeling, risk analysis, and process optimization.
Build respect and trust of the operations team because of their great process technology knowledge and continuous improvement skill set
Drive knowledge exchange with tech center and other crackers
Develop and implement a project portfolio that delivers positive year-over-year ROC and EH&S improvement goals.
Champion process safety activities and act as a resource for relevant process safety concerns
Partner with plant operation and maintenance personnel to identify and track performance indicators
Support the facility root cause investigation process
Serves as the implementation arm of the technology center.
Participate in plant immediate response and advising similar to other day support roles.
Qualifications
A Bachelor or Master Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering required.
At least 3 years of engineering, manufacturing, or related experience required.

A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
