Position: Production Assistant, Temporary, CTV Atlantic, Bell Media

Location: CTV Atlantic, Halifax, NS

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Hours of Work: Temporary - Part Time. As Required. Overtime as required. (Weekends, early mornings, and evenings as required)

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation, compilation and coordination of elements for live broadcasts under the direction of the show Producer and / or Director. Duties include:

• The preparation of rundown / scripts / font lists / VTR elements/ graphics

• Liaising with the Producer, Director and Traffic Department to ensure all program, commercial and sponsorship elements are included in the shows

• Timing news to facilitate accurate on-air and off-air times as well as timing for commercial inserts

• Coordinating content elements for news broadcasts such as, but not limited to: News Ticker, Markets, Milestones, etc.

• Researching, coordinating, conducting interviews and writing stories for broadcast

• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Post secondary education in Broadcasting, Journalism or equivalent

• Strong organizational skills

• Accuracy, including timing, spelling and other content elements

• Ability to be accurate under the pressure of live programming

• Keen attention to detail

• Self-starter

• Must be a team player who can work well under pressure, meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with iNews is a definite asset

• Previous work experience in a live broadcast environment is an asset

• Previous control room experience is a definite asset

Work Arrangement: Full-time in office (meaning that you will be required to perform your work on-site)
