Skylla Engineering is seeking a highly motivated, self driven, team player for a Material Coordinator position for the Network on the Move (NOTM) Program. The duties include but are not limited to:

  • The Material Coordinator reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate material, requisitions material and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material; arranges for transfer of materials to meet production schedules, and with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departments, and examines material delivered to production departments to verify if type specified.

  • This position includes preparing and arranging materials and products in bulk and non-bulk forms for distribution or storage; moving and loading or unloading equipment, materials, and products; driving forklifts and related material-handling machinery and equipment; and using pallet jacks to load and move materials.

  • Responsibilities include, but not limited to, a variety of logistics tasks such as the receipt, storage, and shipment of government property.

  • Desired skill-set is general material handling and warehousing with specialized experience performing inventories and maintaining automated inventory control systems.

  • The Material Coordinator may be required to perform strenuous walking, pushing, and lifting tasks and may have to stand for extended periods of time.

  • The Material Coordinator will be expected to demonstrate precise documentation skills.

Required Skills

  • Plans, develops, and implements programs to coordinate physical distribution, order fulfillment, inventory management and control, and contract management activities.

  • Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties; may work out of a central warehouse.

  • Uses computer system for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting.

  • Follows shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules, and requirements.

  • Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment.

  • (Un)packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc.

  • Controls the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements.

  • Develops and administers production plan and schedules as they relate to material and product flow inbound and outbound to ensure customer service and time objectives are achieved.

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Must be detail oriented and organized.

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time.

Required Experience

  • HS/GED and four (4) years’ experience or Associates and two (2) years related experience.
