DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Legal Assistant 1, you will play a vital role in our office as the focal point for assisting staff in the preparation of and the completion of final Commission Opinions and Orders in the Office of Special Assistants, through both legal research and clerical enhancements. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written formats. It is essential to possess general office skills, word processing abilities, and knowledge of Lexis and Westlaw. You will be responsible for reviewing draft documents prepared by the legal and technical professional staff and transforming those documents into final form consistent with the established parameters of the office. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with professional staff to ensure that they are apprised of, and adhere to, established input protocol to facilitate the efficient finalization of documents, which can be more than 100 pages long. In this role, you will also be required to track and follow-up with time sensitive cases, as well as other aspects of internal and external administrative support. This position requires strong critical thinking skills with the ability to multitask under time constraints, as well as the ability to work independently.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: Part-time work from home (telework) may be a potential feature of this position. The successful candidate is required to report to the headquarters worksite daily, unless the employee meets eligibility requirements and telework has been approved. Management may discontinue any telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. To be eligible to participate in telework, the employee's alternate (telework) worksite must meet the following requirements: Within a reasonable travel distance of Harrisburg; and Within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three ye rs of responsible clerical, enforcement or investigative work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
