Position Summary
This role follows a hybrid working schedule of three days onsite per week
CVS Health is seeking an experienced Senior Indirect Tax Analyst, with a proven ability to navigate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a large and complex organization and join efforts in driving change.
As a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst, you will report to the Indirect Tax Research Manager. Your primary responsibilities include product taxability mapping and maintenance and analyzing tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate tax determinations. Success in this role will require an aptitude for problem-solving including ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and communicate detailed legal, tax jurisdiction, and geographic material.
Responsibilities:
• Research, analyze, interpret, and document tax laws and regulations to enable accurate tax determination and product mapping of goods and services.
• Collaborate with the tax technology team to ensure content updates for transaction tax determination systems are fully evaluated and issues are timely resolved.
• Research and respond to client inquiries in partnership with Customer Support.
• Perform analysis of tax rates for the various products and services sold in the jurisdictions where the company does business.
• Communicate the impact of sales and use tax law developments with internal teams.
• Monitor tax statutes, regulations, legislative activity, court decisions, compliance forms, geographic boundaries, and publications on a continuous basis to stay informed of changes in laws and regulations impacting the company.
• Monitor and evaluate business activities to ensure indirect tax impact is fully contemplated.
• Assist with special projects and perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of professional experience, including researching and interpreting laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
• Detail-oriented with demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and decisiveness, including ability to interpret, analyze, and organize detailed legal, tax jurisdiction, and geographic material.
• Ability to utilize online research tools and/or data sources (e.g. Checkpoint, Tax Analysts, TTR).
• Analytical skills with specific subject matter expertise and tax research skills, including a deep understanding of US retail and healthcare sales taxability concepts.
• Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and tactfully, both verbally and in writing, successfully translating always-complex tax rules for business partners and customers.
• Ability to work productively with a high degree of independence and with accuracy and high attention to detail, while knowing when to seek guidance or assistance.
Preferred Computer and Software Skills:
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource Tax Determination and Vertex O-Series
• Ability and initiative to learn new systems required to perform job responsibilities
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, legal studies, or a related field
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$46,988.00 - $112,200.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
