Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Greater Hartford area - HYBRID opportunity

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist the Controller in overseeing the month-end close for various locations.

• Maintain proper accounting treatment for transactions in accordance with GAAP.

• Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, as well as compile journal entries and analysis as needed to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial results.

• Assess key accounts, produce and evaluate operating statements, compare current results to historical patterns, and investigate and clarify variances.

• Monitor internal controls, including liaising with the various locations to maintain completeness.

• Offer necessary assistance to both internal and external auditors when required.

• Review and assess current accounting procedures and processes, identify and remedy any issues or discrepancies encountered.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.

• Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or MBA is a plus!

• 3-5+ years of experience in an accounting role with strong knowledge of accounting principles.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with finance team and other departments.

• Experience with NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or Sage Intacct accounting software is highly desirable.
