RBC Bearings Waste Water Operator in Hartsville, South Carolina

Description

The wastewater operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the water treatment plant located at the RBC Hartsville facility, maintain grinding coolant chemistry, and properly recording & maintaining all logs related to these activities.

Wastewater Treatment Requirements:

  • Safety requirements and guidelines must always be followed.

  • Must be able to get and maintain (at a minimum) a level D Physical/Chemical Wastewater Operator license as issued by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation Environmental Certification Board.

  • Process wastewater according to work instructions, in accordance with City of Hartsville permit, and applicable State and Federal regulations.

  • Accurately maintain log of water treatment loads.

  • Maintain pumps, pipes, valves, and other equipment as required to maintain the proper operability of the treatment facility, including inspecting wastewater dump area screens and pumps for proper operation and removal of any solid debris which may interfere with the operation of the screens or the pumps.

  • Maintain chemical and supplies inventory level.

  • Prepare monthly samples for pickup and analysis by the lab.

  • Maintain manifests for solid waste disposal.

  • Maintain as much storage capacity as possible in the storage tanks.

  • Ensure that unauthorized persons are not permitted into the area.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the treatment area (including lawn and landscaping)

Coolant System Requirements:

  • Pull coolant samples from coolant systems every Monday and Thursday, complete required testing, and log results.

  • Adjust the coolant systems, as needed, according to work instructions to ensure compliance with coolant manufacture’s specifications.

  • Check supply level in drums/totes of coolant concentrate and change as needed to maintain the system.

Wastewater Treatment Requirements:

  • Due to the effects weather can have on the treatment plant, working overtime, weekends, or holidays may be required to maintain the integrity of the treatment plant and its storage system, often on short notice.

  • Must be able to be certified as a forklift operator (obtainable after hire)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders

  • Ability to bend and stoop

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations

  • Ability to understand and perform basic chemical formulations

  • Ability to read and understand work instructions

  • Ability to obtain a forklift operator's license

  • Ability to adhere to and enforce safety and environmental rules and regulations

  • Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 70 lbs.

Criminal Background: Must not have been convicted or pled guilty to the following:

Certification: Must not have been denied certification by any other state and must not have had any other state revoke, suspend, or invalidate a certificate issued to you.
