Job Description

We are seeking a skilled welder to perform structural Mig Welding on steel beams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints, picking out materials, fabricating, measuring, cutting, and welding materials together. The candidate will also be required to measure and make adjustments throughout the process, perform all layouts of materials, and tackle any directed tasks comfortably.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural Mig Welding on steel beams.

• Read and interpret blueprints independently.

• Pick out materials, fabricate, measure, cut, and weld materials together.

• Make adjustments during the welding process as needed.

• Perform all layouts of materials.

• Comfortably tackle any directed tasks.

Essential Skills

• At least one year of structural welding experience on steel.

• At least one year of fabrication experience on steel.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints without assistance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• AWS Certification is a plus.

• Experience in both structural welding and fabrication on steel.

• Experience working in a job shop.

• Highly experienced in reading and interpreting blueprints independently from day one.

Work Environment

Our work environment is a typical fabrication shop. It can get hot in the summer, but we have fans to keep the air circulating. The pace is fast, and the hours are from 7am to 3:30pm, with the possibility of working until 4:30pm during overtime. The standard work week is Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work if needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harvard, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
