Sr. Accountant with Manufacturing/Cost Accounting experience

Anna Parson at Robert Half is working with a Manufacturing client seeking a well-rounded, motivated Sr. Accountant that excels in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Hauppauge, New York.

As the Sr. Accountant you will:

• Perform the month end close, including general ledger review, journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and assisting with preparation of Financial Statements

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company procedures

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis, project accounting profitability reviews and financial reporting

• Leverage your knowledge of ERP systems to create meaningful analyses

• Contribute to the implementation of best practices in the accounting department to improve efficiency and accuracy

• Assist the Controller with special projects and all reporting

• Manage and oversee manufacturing cost accounting, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports

Requirements

• Possess strong expertise in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Demonstrated proficiency in General Ledger management and Journal Entries.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience in Month End Close process.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software.

• Knowledge in Manufacturing Cost Accounting specific to the machinery manufacturing industry.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification is preferred.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
