    Working Title Instructor/Assistant Professor - Agriculture Faculty (Tenure Track)

    Brief Position Overview

This position will require teaching approximately 24 college level semester credits each academic year. Course lecture and lab topic areas will be related to rangeland management, GPS - GIS and precision agriculture, agricultural business management, and other agriculturally related subjects. The position is also responsible for business industry relationships and marketing the program. Academic and career advising of students will be responsibility associated with this position. In addition, the hire will be involved in curriculum development, program growth, program assessment and working with the program’s industry advisory board. Academic responsibilities will also include serving on campus committees, active involvement in campus activities and serving as an ambassador and collegiate member of the College of Technical Sciences.

Duties and Responsibilities

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Master’s degree in agriculture or closely related field, OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or closely related field and minimum of 3 years-experience in the agriculture industry

  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication

  • Demonstrated strength in interpersonal skills and potential for developing an effective teaching portfolio

  • Demonstrated passion for agriculture and agricultural education

  • Demonstrated experience with agricultural software, MS Office Suite

    Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Terminal degree in an appropriate field

  • Demonstrated background in Agriculture business and marketing, preferred

  • Background and work experience in farm and ranch production and/or agricultural industry

  • Experience and willingness to embrace emerging agricultural technologies

  • Demonstrated effective secondary/post-secondary agricultural teaching experience
