About you and this role:

The candidate provides maintenance craft specific support to plants. Maintains and repairs all types of equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. Participates on maintenance team which supports reliability improvement across all Operations facilities. Requires full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments. Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide maintenance support for mechanical repairs such as centrifugal, positive displacement, and air diaphragm pumps.

  • Provide preventative maintenance support for piping, pressure relief and vessel inspections.

  • Maintain all equipment through the maintenance strategy and equipment manuals.

  • Enables the people who manage and/or perform work in the field with the tools and information needed to perform their job effectively and efficiently.

  • Requires full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments.

  • Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.

  • 1 or more years of maintenance experience in a chemical manufacturing facility.

  • Current, valid US driver’s license.

  • Able to work overtime as needed.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Physical Requirements:

Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Frequent/occasional Lifting, pushing, and pulling of material weighing approximately 55 lbs.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.

  • Stand 50% of the time.

  • Walk for extended periods of time.

  • Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.

  • Work in tight and closed in spaces.

  • Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator and harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with welding.

  • Prior experience with SAP.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel.

  • Have the ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • Multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.

  • Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.

  • A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.

  • Able to read, write, and speak English.

Note: This position does not offer relocation assistance.

For positions based in California, Dow is required by law to include the pay scale that is reasonably expected to represent the salary range for the position. This salary range is specific to the State of California and accounts for both new and experienced employees with consideration to factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, and sustained job performance (or similar jobs).

A reasonable annual base salary range for this position is: $31.15– $51.92. For those employees who are eligible for overtime pay, payment will be made under the provisions of federal and state law (typically, 1.5X of your regular hourly rate).
