Job Title: Service Technician

Job Description

Perform repairs to mobile office trailers including framing and finish carpentry, electrical, flooring, plumbing, painting, running gear, and all other facets of modular building repair. Engage in light carpentry, electrical work, and some HVAC tasks without needing certifications. Maintain proper inventory levels of all equipment, tools, and parts needed for service tasks, and ensure a clean and organized work area. Adhere to safety standards and practices as per company policies, and provide courteous customer service by explaining all repairs and services to customers. Ensure trailers are ready for scheduled delivery dates and perform service-related tasks in the yard as requested.

Responsibilities

• Conduct service calls in branch territories as assigned.

• Attend bi-monthly safety meetings.

• Close-up multi-sectional units and ensure doors and windows are shut on idle fleet.

• Assist in ordering materials and unloading material deliveries.

• Operate a forklift.

• Perform office maintenance and repair tasks as assigned.

• Conduct system checks and maintenance on HVAC systems per company guidelines.

• Ensure that routine maintenance is performed according to established schedules and procedures.

Essential Skills

• Interest in construction and working with hand tools all day.

• Basic knowledge and skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, flooring, and maintenance.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Good communication skills for dealing with customers and salespeople.

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Some knowledge of computers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to operate power tools and hand tools.

• Forklift operation skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is a yard setting that is very clean and organized. The team will work on one modular at a time, either in a refurbished modular or one that holds the tools. Production takes about 30-35 hours to complete a modular, aiming for one per week depending on client needs.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00
