Purpose of the Position:

A department trainer in manufacturing is responsible for developing and delivering training programs to employees within a specific department or area of the manufacturing facility. They play a crucial role in ensuring that employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their jobs effectively and safely. Relocation to the Hemlock, MI area is available. There are 3 positions currently open.

Required Education, Background & Experience:

  • A high school or GED is required
  • 2-5 years of experience in training and development, in a manufacturing or industrial setting, is preferred.
  • Experience in delivering training programs and conducting training needs assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deliver training sessions and interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies.

Desired Background & Skills:

  • Proficiency in using instructional design principles and training delivery techniques to create effective and engaging training materials.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) or other training administration software is advantageous.
  • Additional certifications, such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or Certified Training Professional (CTP).

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborating with subject matter experts and department managers to identify training needs and develop training programs. This includes designing training materials, curriculum, and assessments that align with departmental objectives and comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
