Seven Hills Hospital is a growing, private, 134-bed psychiatric hospital that is dedicated to providing high-quality care for adults, geriatrics, and adolescents (ages 5-17) who are suffering from behavioral health and chemical dependency issues. Our patients recover at our new, state-of-the art medical facility in the Seven Hills area of Henderson, Nevada. Henderson is one of the fastest growing cities in the US and is located just 7 miles from the famed Las Vegas Strip and a couple of miles from beautiful Lake Mead.

Join the team of highly dedicated mental health professionals. We are presently looking for full time Certified Nursing Assistants who will be responsible for provision of routine mental health/psychiatric nursing care for inpatients and Partial hospitalization patients in the Adolescent, Adult Psychiatric, Adult Chemical Dependency and Geriatric Programs under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Position participates in the direct delivery of patient care by observation, involving patients in scheduled program activities, assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADL’s), transferring patients, transporting patients to outside appointments, monitoring and reporting behaviors to the RN and obtaining vital signs, monitoring nutritional intake, sleep patterns and other indicators of mental/behavioral status and results are documented per policy.

Key Functions

  • Works as a part of the multidisciplinary team to provide safety and increase coping skills of the patient

  • Assist in developing strategies for helping patients to be as independent as possible

  • Provide input to the treatment team that contributes to formulation/revision to the treatment plan

  • Perform assigned nursing tasks in a competent and timely manner

  • Monitor for behavioral improvements and reinforce these behaviors

  • Encourage patients to participate in interpersonal and other therapeutic activities to enhance their interpersonal skills

  • Reinforce new skills learned by patients from therapists, physicians and RNs that promote improved physical and/or mental wellness

  • Possess good working knowledge of basic health/disease concepts, psychosocial and spiritual needs, environmental concerns, self-care needs, educational needs

  • Exhibit basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and normal body functions

  • Exhibit deep respect for cultural and age related variances with patients

  • Knowledge of proper use of blood pressure equipment, thermometers and knowledge of proper procedure for taking temp, pulse, respirations and blood pressures.

  • Basic knowledge of learning differences in both the individual and the age-related group to which the patient belongs

  • Must understand and adhere to patient bill of rights

  • Ability to maintain interpersonal relationships with co-workers

Qualifications

Education:

High School degree or GED

Licensure:

State of Nevada C.N.A. certification in good standing

CPR Healthcare Provider

Experience:

1 year within the last 3 years preferred. Experience in Mental Health Field preferred.
