In the context of Software Solutions projects execution within the Services organization, the successful candidate will bring his expertise as Solution Integrator to make sure all the various software applications and databases used for a Solution work together without compromising overall information system integrity.
The Solution Integrator Engineer role is an integral part of project teams responsible for delivering best-in-class services, development and project delivery of technical solutions and consultancy to key customer accounts, within the various regions of GE Grid Software Solutions.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:
Contribute of the software’s integration in coordination with the Senior Solution Integrator owning the solution in cooperation with the others Solution Integration team members based in France and abroad
Contribute to the configuration management, build and deployment, including integration of customs and customer data model, integration of external systems interface
Collaborate with test management team to proactively ensure that all systems setup and configuration tasks are complete to achieve solution acceptance by customer
Contribute to the delivery of solution level documentation including maintenance documentation and release notes
Work actively on optimization of the deployment process, implementation of Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and Test automation processes with the DevOps teams
Support in building excellence in execution through continuous improvement via the adoption of global tools and processes and cost competitiveness actions
Qualifications / Essential Criteria :
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
Ideal subjects: Computer Science, IT Networking, Software Development with willingness to change to Software Integration and Deployment
Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems and LDAP
Software configuration and deployment management
Applications development using C++, Java languages.
Scripting development using PowerShell or Perl
Relational databases: SQL-Server or Oracle
HW Infrastructure and Virtualization (VMware)
Security: Authentication, Encryption
DevOps and Agile methodology
Experience with Deployment tools as of Docker
Desirable Criteria or Characteristics :
Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence)
Web Services (SOAP, REST)
Applications development in IT/Multitier/SOA/Web context
Source Code Management tool (TFS, GitHub, SVN)
Infrastructure As Code: Terraform, Ansible, Artifactory, Docker, Puppet, SSCM
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Rigorous, methodical, well organized, and self-disciplined
Take initiatives, good trouble-shooter and autonomous
Ability to analyze complex topics and make a verbal/written synthesis
French speaking or understanding
Flexibility to travel to remote site when required
