Sigma Design has collaborated with a manufacturing company seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their facility in Hillsboro, OR. This company is a premier provider of state-of-the-art parts and services within the semiconductor industry.

Primary Function:
In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee all stages of product development, from research and design to manufacturing and commissioning. This position also offers an exciting opportunity to lead projects, mentor and lead other engineers, and contribute to cutting-edge solutions. Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
Lead multidisciplinary teams through full lifecycle product development, including design, prototyping, manufacturing, and implementation.
Collaborate with a team of 2-5 multidisciplinary engineers
Act as lead project manager for engineering projects
Mentor and guide engineers, fostering professional growth and ensuring project success.
Design mechanical systems and components to meet stringent requirements and specifications.
Create parts, assemblies, and detail drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
Develop clear and concise assembly, testing, and installation procedures.
Conduct methodical experiments, analyze data, and refine designs.
Evaluate and optimize designs for performance, reliability, and safety.
Troubleshoot and modify designs to address challenges or evolving requirements.
Estimate project budgets and scopes, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
Collaborate across departments—from sales and manufacturing to vendors and end users—to drive project success.
Inspect incoming parts for quality, prepare reports, and maintain thorough documentation.
Continuously learn and implement new methods, tools, and theories to enhance team and project outcomes.
Contribute to the team with additional responsibilities as assigned
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience preferred
Proficiency in 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor is required; advanced proficiency is strongly preferred.
· Familiarity with manufacturing processes (mills, press brakes, lathes, CNC machines, etc.).
· Strong creativity, problem solving, and attention to detail.
· Basic proficiency with hand tools and engineering analysis tools.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation.
· Proven ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and adapt to changing priorities.
· Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills within an engineering team
· Basic proficiency with Windows, Microsoft 365 Suite, SharePoint, and Planner.
Preferred:
· Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM), finite element analysis (FEA), and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
· Familiarity with Autodesk Vault.
· Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing.
Compliance

Work Environment
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients, or suppliers.
