Maser Consulting P.A Project Accountant in Holmdel, New Jersey

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Accountant to work in our Holmdel, NJ office. The Project Accountant will work closely with project managers to ensure our clients are invoiced accurately and in a timely manner. The role includes, but is not limited to, entering, and reviewing new projects into our accounting software, confirming that the project setup will meet client invoicing and contractual requirements, preparing invoices and submitting to the client, and producing simple reports as requested.


Responsibilities
  • Setup new projects and tasks in our accounting software.
  • Verify the setup of projects in BST are in compliance with contract.
  • Prepare draft invoices for Project Managers and collaborate with them to make required changes.
  • Contract billing may include time & material, cost plus fixed fee, lump sum, and fixed unit terms.
  • Monitor/Match expenses charged to projects with the labor charges.
  • Finalize and submit invoices to clients which may include preparing additional spreadsheets, forms and/or assembling expense backup.
  • Provide requested reports for Project Managers to help them manage the financial health of their projects. (Requests for reports beyond the Project Accountant's capability will be provided by a more senior staff member).
  • Assist the collections department and project managers as needed to revise invoices or provide additional information to clients as needed for payment.
  • Digital filing of invoices and backup.
  • Perform other accounting tasks as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance and/or a combination of Associate's Degree + relevant experience.
  • 0-2+ years experience in project billing preferred.
  • Experience in the AEC industry preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
