About you and this role

Dow is seeking a highly qualifiedSenior Category Leaderlocated inHorgen, Switzerland.

The successful candidate leads the Industrial Intermediates & Infrastructure (II&I) sourcing organization in the development and implementation of organizational and commercial strategies within the Polyurethanes & CAV and Industrial Solutions businesses. You provide leadership to a purchasing team across multiple geographies or diverse disciplines.

In this role, you will lead and direct multiple teams (typically through other people leaders) and apply in-depth knowledge of your area of responsibility. You will require broad knowledge of industry and advanced commercial awareness to drive financial performance. You should have established collaborative internal and external relationships with the ability to negotiate with and shape the opinions of other senior people leaders.

As a senior director, you are accountable for not only leading your II&I category but also responsible for driving the strategy and implementation of such strategy for the wider Raw Materials, Packaging & External Manufacturing (RMPEM) area. You join the RMPEM Leadership as well as the Direct Procurement Leadership team and the business leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading an organization in the development and implementation of organizational and commercial strategies across diverse categories.

  • Requires an understanding of key business drivers and an ability to resolve complex business and organizational issues, to enable maximum value delivery.

  • Leads a large team of professionals, and develops & executes a long term strategy.

  • Ensures the efficient and effective execution of the Global Procurement Work Process by Purchasing employees globally to meet business / functional partner and regulatory requirements.

  • Works with stakeholder in highly complex markets where Purchasing strategy impacts the client's strategy to influence and differentiate their competitive advantage

  • Requires strong interpersonal skills to elevate strategic supplier relationship management, evolving relationships to secure sustainable and reliable product / service capacity at a competitive cost to serve

Qualifications

  • 10 years of progressive experience in business management and/or procurement

  • Experience leading a team of professionals across geographies and cultures

  • Experience and ability working with, presenting to and influencing senior management.

  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and influential leadership capabilities

  • Experience leading transformational change

  • Demonstrated capability to think strategically while also possessing the expertise to delve into detailed subject matter
